      October 6–11, 2023: my first time travelling abroad on my own. Part of the reason was work: I was in Kuala Lumpur to present a paper at the IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP 2023), held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

      Between sessions I went to see the Petronas Twin Towers, climbed the rainbow stairs of Batu Caves, walked past the National Mosque, Masjid Jamek and the Sultan Abdul Samad Building, and ate my way through Petaling Street.

      While I was flying my drone, I got talking with a girl from India, and she asked me to guess her age. Being the straight-talking guy I am, I guessed ten years too old. Lesson learned: from now on, whenever a woman asks me to guess her age, my answer is “you look like a newborn”.
